there is no analogue audio out (3.5mm or other type). The digital optical output works for regular tv, but when switching to apps like YouTube, Hulu, HBO, Amazon, or Netflix with the Smart Hub, it switches to tv speakers. I got an Analog to digital convertor, but doesn't seem to work. The optical audio out looks like the original TOSLINK square port, which never carries any electrical connectors (unlike the 3.5mm round optical out which usually carries both optical and eletrical connectors. Your options are using a optical-to-analogue converter, or replacing the TV. Did a sound test and it was perfect, but no sound from any channel, just the show without sound. I have a Samsung UN60FH6003F. I am looking at the Samsung NU7100 58" TV and I have a question about the model. This wouldn't be a problem if the tv had any other outputs, but it ONLY has a digital optical output. I want to connect to a Yamaha YAS-101 soundbar. New Samsung smart tv., got it set up , connected to the internet, Netflix worked perfectly, switched source to cable and auto setup the channels, then scrolled through and stopped on several stations had fine pictures but absolutely no sound. I see by the specs on the model that the old RCA audio out ports have been eliminated and replaced with an Optical Audio (Toslink) out. This occurs with some soundbars that may have a digital optical audio input option but no onboard My optical sound lead kept dropping out of the back of the TV. I have no sound from digital output through the Smart Hub apps. Youtube, Hulu, HBO, Netflix, etc. This does not work for me. It works fine with Direct TV, but automatically turns off with any Smart Hub app. This may correct the problem. My question is can the Optical out be used (with a RCA adapter) for wireless headphones without cancelling the TV speakers. The soundbar only has 2 Optical inputs and a STB input (looks like RCA style with orange color). This is really frustrating. No sound from Samsung TV to optical output (not solved!) If you find that you are not hearing any sound on your external audio system coming from the TV using the digital optical connection, go into your TV's audio output settings and check for an option referred to as PCM. The TV has HDMI1(DVI), HDMI 2. Older posts on this topic say they solve it by logging in on the TV, not the app. Correct. I could see the red light, but no sound. When I manually change back to digital output with one of the apps running, there is no sound. Then has Comp/AV in with YVideo, Pb, Pr and L&R Audio.
